Question: What does percent mean? Percent means out of 100

Describe how you can change a percent to a decimal and to a fraction. The way you can change a percent to a decimal is by doing...50% and you move it 2 spaces to the left and to change it into a fraction all u have to do is convert which gives you 1/2.

Describe how you can change a frraction to a percent. first you would want to convert the fraction into a decimal like so...1/2=o.5 or o.50 yhen you would have to move the decimal 2 spaces to the right.

Why are percents useful in making comparisons? Percents are useful in making comparisons because they can help you find out how much is needed or how much is left. For example if you have 30 dollars and you wanted to buy slippers, but the slippers were half off you would only have to pay 15 dollars.

Explain how to find what percent one number is of another number. For example, what percent of 200 is 75?Draw a percent bar to help explain your thinking.The way you can find a percent of another number is, for example what percent is 200/50? I dont have my percent but i have my whole and part. So i would have to divide 200 into 50 which would give me 4 and thats it

  1. Nice job! Make sure you understand what is actually happening when you move the decimal the 2 spaces to the right or left. I understand you guys figured that out while you were calculating, but what operations are you doing?? Why do you do those operations when you change between decimal-percent-fraction?? Be very clear!
